Function of diode-
The function of diode depends on their type. 1. Semiconductor diode – This diode converts Ac to DC. 2. Zener diode – Through this we get fixed voltage.
3.LED diode- It provides light in the display and keypad of the mobile phone.
4.Photo diode- It acts as a sensor
OK condition of diode-
Check the diode by setting the multimeter to beep (continuity) mode. If the diode shows value from one side and nothing from the other side, then the diode is OK.
Faulty condition of diode-
1. If the diode does not do anything from both sides then it is open (bad).
2. If the diode shows value from both sides then it is ok.
3. If the diode gives beep sound from both sides then it is short.
